Under 12’s Match Reports Season
2008/2009
Latchford Albion Unicorns - 0
Golborne Parkside - 38
Sunday 21st September 2008!
Latchford started their season a week later than everybody else this week and they put in a tremendous performance and made all their supporters proud of them. The score might read that the game was a 1-sided affair but to the supporters of both sides watching this game this simply wasn’t the case! Latchford played some absolutely fantastic Rugby League and showed in patches that they could potentially be a team not to be taken lightly. The performance was one the best performances witnessed so far, and showed a big improvement and showed new skills and new sense of team spirit. In defence at times Latchford showed complete resolution and mad some fantastic hits, which made Parkside really sit up and take notice of who their opponents are. Overall although there was no win today there was a real sense of positivity and spirit running through the team and also their supporters.
The Best is Yet to Come Guys!

We have seen some amazing play today from the young Latchford team. They are still trying to find their first win and form together as a stronger team with new players getting more involved. We also saw some of best tackling as of yet performed today.Awards this week went to quite a few players for an outstanding performance as this score could of been higher.

Blackpool Scorpions U12's 22
Latchford Albion Unicorns U12's 8
An absolutely breath taking performance from the ever improving Latchford Albion side nearly gave the team their 1st win!
Latchford’s could have won that game but were hampered by other factors throughout the game.
Latchford’s defence was resolute, and their attacking play was 1st class, this shows how far Latchford have come and are showing signs of ever improving in games to come and possibly even getting their own back on a few teams.
The 2 Latchford tries, both cam from very quick thinking from Jordan Hickey in the 1st half and Lewis Fry in the 2nd half. Both were through all the team pulling together and working hard to get down field and then punishing slack defending by Blackpool as Latchford got them on their Try line and pounced silently like something out of a James Bond movie.
All throughout the game Latchford became stronger and stronger but just couldn’t convert their chances , and after the game they came off with a very positive feel and looked as though they were ready to take on the world!

Latchford Albion Unicorns 4 Milnrow 20 Latchford put in another great performance to be proud of in the pre-limary round of The Lancashire Cup competition.
Latchford showed a fantastic defensive effort and held out Milnrow for long periods of time, this managed to force error and bring the ball back into Latchford’s psosesion.
Latchford’s only TRY came in the 1st half with some quick thinking and great combination between Matthew Grimshaw and James Haskell to send James careering through a gap big enough to get a tank through to score Latchford’s TRY. It may have been the only TRY scored by Latchford but it was 1 of the best Tries of the game.
Latchford were all over the game and could have scored lots more Tries but missed a few of the opportunities.
All the Latchford supporters were impressed with their sides performance, on the day and all of them went home talking about how impressed they were with the performance and were in definite agreement that playing like they did today that a Win will not be far off! Things Are On The Up Guys Don’t Worry!

Latchford Albion Unicorns - 4
Chorley Panthers - 28
Latchford showed an absolutely determined performance to give opposition from Group A real run, and real competition from start to finish.
Latchford started off slow, but when they got their selves together and started working as a team for each other they started to become a real force to be reckoned with and started putting the opposition under pressure and Chorley then started to drop ball and give away cheap metres through penalties and loss of possession.
Chorley thought they were turning up for a nice afternoon of waltzing over the line without any competition but after Latchford woke up Chorley found they had to work and only managed to score 2 Tries in the 2nd half. Latchford’s only TRY of the game was an absolutely fantastic effort created and finished by Lewis Fry, Lewis put himself in at hooker and a quick dummy and a gap opened up wide enough for a Hummer to drive through and lewis took full advantage sprinting in from 30 metres out to the delight of Latchford and astonishment of The Chorley team.
Latchford proved once again they are no easy beats and are showing their determination to make things happen in games and this showed in defence where they were putting some awesome shots into justify their intentions.
We Are looking good Guys, Keep Up The Hard Work!
