Season 2005/2006
This early season BARLA-run competition is for teams at U12, 14, 16 and 18 levels
It is the first opportunity the U12's have of playing competitive Rugby League
There are just 3 fixtures for Round One on 9th October. The remaining 29 teams join in at Round Two on 16th October 2005. Latchford Albion's Unicorns and Giants are among those teams with a bye through to the next stage.
The U14 competition this year sees just one fixture at Round One, before the remaining 31 clubs join in at Round Two on 16th October. Latchford Albion's U14's are one of those 31 teams with a bye through to Round Two.
At U16's level there are just two teams with a bye through to Round Two, with 14 fixtures taking place on 9th October in Round One.
Latchford Albion Unicorns U16's have been given a home tie with Oldham St Anne's. The two sides have already met this season and the game proved to be a thrilling encounter, finishing 14-16 in favour of St Anne's. Rest assured Woody's Unicorns will be all out to address that result and progress to the next round
BARLA National and County Cup Competition Rules - Season 2005/2006
It is the responsibility of all teams to comply with the Cup Rules detailed below and as set out in the BARLA handbook:
(a) Any player currently contracted to a Rugby Football League club as a professional is not eligible to play in this competition.
(b) Only three current ex-professional players per team are allowed to participate. It should be noted that once two years have elapsed from the date of a player?s last professional appearance then he will no longer count as ex-professional in any match played thereafter. Clubs are responsible for checking details of their ex-professional players and ensuring that the correct quota of ex-professionals are played in the County / National Cup.
(c) If the scores are level at the end of normal time then extra time shall be played as detailed on the draw sheet.
(d) Any team that fails to fulfil its obligations will be deemed to be guilty of bringing the game into disrepute. They shall be fined a minimum of £100.00 and /or suspended from the competition for 12 months and will be responsible for any costs incurred.
(e) No player may play for more than one team in a competition in a season.
(f) Any team found guilty of fielding an ineligible player shall be fined a minimum of £100.00, shall forfeit the match and the offending player liable to be suspended for six matches.
(g) Clubs must exchange a list of players from which they will select their team 72 hours prior to the game. The home team must provide ground directions to their opponents and match officials at least 72 hours prior to kick off. The home team is responsible for the match officials fees and expenses and for the provision of post match refreshments. All players must play in at least two league or cup games to be eligible to play for a club in any semi-final or final.
(h) Playing areas must be properly enclosed or roped off so as to keep spectators from the field of play.
(i) If the home club considers their ground unfit, they must obtain confirmation from a member of a referee?s society or the local parks or education authority. If so confirmed the home club must notify their opponents and match officials prior to them travelling and the Competition Secretary. If the visiting team travels the home club is liable for half the visitors travelling expenses. If the clubs cannot agree on the state of the ground the referee shall decide upon its fitness and both clubs shall accept that decision.
(j) The home team must
(i) Contact the person appointing the match officials, as detailed on the draw sheet, to obtain the name of the referee so as to give travel directions and full particulars of the game at least 72 hours prior to kick off.
(ii) Contact your opponents regarding travel directions, team colours, list of players etc at least 72 hours prior to kick off, and also provide after-match refreshments and hospitality.
(iii) Notify the respective publicity officer listed on the draw sheet of the result of the match by 4-30pm, (Open Age), 2.00pm, (Youth and Junior)
Clubs in default of the above will be fined £10.00 on each count.
(k) The trainer, who must be identified to the referee before the game, is permitted to enter the field of play to attend to injured players whilst the game is in progress.
(l) It is the duty of each club?s PRO to give maximum publicity to the competition by ensuring that this draw and subsequent match previews, results and reports are issued to the mass media in your area.
(m) All clubs must ensure that the jerseys worn in this competition are numbered 1 to 17. Clubs in default will be fined £10.00.
(n) Clubs failing to submit a referees assessment for receipt at the BARLA Offices within 7 days will be fined £10.00 on each occasion.
(o) Match referees allowances and expenses shall be as follows:

It is recommended that the standardised rate in respect of touch judges should be fixed at 50% of Band 1 i.e. £11.00 on condition that the touch judges if appointed MUST travel with the referee
