Warrington Wolves achieved a first with four of their highly promising young players being selected for England U16.
Forwards Lee Mitchell, Mike Cooper, Anthony Rourke and Jacob Emmitt, have all undergone rigorous selection to win their selection.
Last May they played for their Service Area and were then were then chosen for Regional camp. They were then selected for the Regional team to play against the likes of Wales, North East and Yorkshire.
All four gained selection to National camp after showing their skill and athleticism. In October the National camp saw the players compete against the best 40 young players at their age group. Again the Warrington players showed that they were amongst the best.
The significance of the players' inclusion has not been left un-noticed on Wolves Scholarship manager Vinny Webb, who said: "The four players are all dedicated athletes and this is reward for all their hard work.
"The youth programmes at Warrington have started to produce the players that should move onward towards Super League in the near future. Programmes are in place to develop these players to the next level with the full support of the Club".
- we at Latchford Albion Unicorns would also like to acknowledge the hard work of coaches Jon Mitchell and Sean Mellor, both of whom have also assisted on the Warrington Service Area as well as bringing on a superb Latchford U16 squad.
