Latchford Albion U10's 10 - 18 Thattoheath U10's
In this first game of the new season Latchford found it hard going. They were not able to get into the game until the second half. Both teams defended well and also showed great flair in attack, which made it an enjoyable game to watch. Thattoheath seemed to adapt to the new rules better and ran out worthy victors. This was a good performance overall by Latchford who will get better as the season goes on. Back to top
Waterhead U10's 12 - 40 Latchford Albion U10's
Another tough encounter for the Albion who had to be at their best to overcome a determined Waterhead team. Latchford played some good rugby and raced into a 24-0 lead by half time. After the break Waterhead got themselves into the game and crossed for two good tries. This spurred Latchford on who stepped up a gear and took the game beyond the home team's reach. The whole team were outstanding, especially in defence, and all deservedly received the coaches' award for player of the match. Back to top

Latchford's original opponents, Widnes West Bank Bears had drooped out down a league so our U10's were forced to seek an opponent from a higher league than their own.By half time Latchford were trailing 24-0 but, to their credit the Albion dominated possession in the second half and scored two tries, one of which they converted. Latchford Albion U10's 26 - 0 Rylands Sharks U10's
Both sides were in determined mood and refused to give each other an inch, as you'd expect with local pride at stake. However, Latchford had the edge throughout. The Under 10's proved just too strong for the Sharks, though Rylands never gave up the fight.Grace Mellor had an excellent game for Latchford on her debut emulating the promise shown by her siblings Joe and Ben. The Under 10's are at the forefront when it comes to recruiting girls boasting the ever-competitive Becky Cooper also among their ranks. Grace joins not only Becky but also Jennie Pendlebury of the Under 9's and Louise Sullivan of the Under 11's as the first of what we hope will be a long line of girls playing for Latchford Albion.
