Latchford opened their premier league campaign with an impressive team display against a physical Leigh outfit. The Albion expansive style proved effective as Antony Britton, Ben Reynolds, Joe Mellor, Lee Vaughan and Tom Rigby crossed for touchdowns. Ashley Cornelia and back-rowers Jack Cooper, Jack Probert and debutant Matthew Lomax made excellent contributions. The seventy metre break by Robert Bryant was undoubtedly play of the day. With the scoreline at 0 - 22 to North West Counties Cup holders Blackbrook, this Wilderspool curtain-raiser was in danger of turning flat. An Ashley Cornelia pass split the defence and Joe Mellor touched down sparking a remarkable comeback. Latchford took the lead when Mellor completed his hat trick and Jack Probert crossed the line. In a final twist Blackbrook snatched the game with a last minute score. Back to top

A half time scoreline of 20-6 to table toppers, Orrell made a cruel mockery of the early defensive efforts of Latchford. The Albion showed great spirit in the second period and were rewarded with a Joe Mellor try to add to the first half Matt Lomax touchdown. Both scorers were outstanding as were Jack Probert and Antony Britton in the pack, while the powerful Tom Rigby provided a constant threat in the backs. Back to top

Latchford Albion U13's - 6Orrell St James U13's - 40
With Rylands dropping out of the premier league Latchford?s Under 13's had another week off before playing host to Orrell St James. The break did not help and the Albion were over-run 6-40.
The week after the game with Oldham St Annes was also called off meaning the U13's had just two more fixtures before Christmas, at West Bank and home to Wigan St Pat's. Back to top

Latchford Albion U13 - 6Wigan St Pats U13's - 18
Regardless of the result this was a good team performance against the table-toppers from Wigan typified by Ashley Cornelia, Ben Reynolds, Tom Rigby and Lee Vaughan.
Latchford can count themselves unlucky with a final scoreline that flattered the visitors. Antony Briton scored the Unicorns' try and Joe Mellor converted.
That was the U13's last game before Christmas and with the match against West Bank Bears postponed it was not until 11th January before they pulled on their boots again. Back to top

An early Joe Mellor try helped to calm Latchford's nerves in this NWC 1st round cup tie.
Latchford's other try scorers were Tom Rigby, Jack Probert and Lee Vaughan as the team put in a strong performance against a powerful Leigh side.
Ryan Main had a sensational game along with other notable performers Ashley Cornelia, Sam Jones and Ben Reynolds.

Latchford Albion U13's - 22Folly Lane U13's - 14
Latchford showed immense spirit and determination to recover from a 14-0 deficit and inflict Folly's first defeat of the season to knock them out of the cup.
The half back pairing of Ashley Cornelia and Joe Mellor was the inspiration behind the comeback.
Matt Lomax and Ben Reynolds also excelled while Latchford's tries came from Lee Vaughan, Tom Rigby, Jack Probert and Antony Britton Back to top

Latchford put in a fantastic team performance to secure this victory against Widnes who desperately wanted something from this game. Sam Jones and Ryan Main continued their development into fine players supporting Sam Mairs, Richie Burnett and Ross Pendlebury, who performed well for the Albion as did Antony Britton, Joe Mellor and Matthew Lomax.
Right centre Tom Rigby scored a hat trick of tries, while halfback duo Joe Mellor grabbed two and Ashley Cornelia the other. Back to top

Latchford Albion U13's - 42West Bank Bears U13's - 0
Latchford progressed into the semi-final of the NWC Cup thanks to solid performances by Ashley Cornelia, Ben Reynolds, Tom Rigby and Jack Probert. Fine contributions by Chris Hall and debutant Jordan Farrington enabled Latchford to dominate the game from start to finish.
Tom Rigby claimed his second hat trick in two games, winger Richie Burnett scored two while the other three try scorers were Joe Mellor, Matthew Lomax and Sam Mairs. Back to top

Latchford continued their recent fine run of form against a powerful and aggressive Leigh outfit. This was the fifth game in succession that Tom Rigby had crossed the whitewash having scored nine tries in those games.
Other try scorers for Latchford were Antony Britton, Tom Rigby, Joe Mellor, Richie Burnett and Matthew Lomax.
