Latchford Albion U14's - 30
Hindley U14's - 10

Latchford came out fired up for their first game of the season. First half tries came from Billy Sheen and two from Eddie Vaughan.
Eddie completed his hat trick in the second half and Mark smith grabbed one. Mark converted all the tries. Billy Sheen was man of the match but Eddie Vaughan and Josh Cullen both had superb games with Chris 'the Train' Jenness being top tackler. Back to top

Saddleworth U14's - 28

A closer game than the scoreline suggests with some good rugby from two evenly matched sides. The Albion took an early lead when Mark Smith kicked over a penalty. Saddleworth came back with three first half tries. In the second half Latchford replied with tries from top tackler Eddie Vaughan and Mark Smith but it was too little too late despite the efforts of player of the match Ashley Pemberton. Back to top

Widnes St Maries U14's - 6

After the previous defeat against Saddleworth, Latchford were back on their game and pulled the visitors from Widnes to a score of 18-6. Both sides played good rugby but in the end Latchford came out on top after tries from Chris Jenness, Billy Sheen and player-of-the-match Eddie Vaughan. All were converted by top tackler Mark Smith.

No fixture the week after was followed by a defeat at Orrell St James by 24 pts to 6.

The Under 14's have been drawn at home to Oldham St Annes in the Lancashire Cup. Back to top

Latchford Albion U14's - 16

Games against Haydock and then Oldham in the cup had been called off due, in the main, to depleted numbers. Then they took on a Hindley defence and fought hard in this close game of Rugby, fighting back from 18-0 to 18-16. Latchford's tries were scored by player-of-the-match Mark Smith, Barry Styles and Danny Rigby. Ashley Pemberton kicked two goals, while Chris Jenness topped the tackle count.

The next game at Saddleworth was called off. Back to top

This was not a good morning's rugby for Latchford while their opponents played well. Ashley Pemberton was the pick of the Albion players and Anton Mason was top tackler. Back to top

Langworthy Reds U14's - 6

Latchford had only played four games in the eight weeks prior to this game and had not won since 5th October.
By playing simple rugby the Albion emerged from this tough game winning by 14 points. Eddie Vaughan (2), Anton Mason and Martin Whitehead, two of which were converted by Ashley Pemberton scored tries.
Dan Rigby's attitude earned him praise and other noteworthy performances came from Ashley, Eddie and Billy Sheen, while man of the match was Barry Styles. Top tacklers were Mark Smith and Anton Mason. Back to top

Orrell St James U14's - 0

Latchford came out fired up for their biggest game of the season so far. They showed great determination to win this game. Special mentions go to Barry Styles for his powerful drives that gained some good yardage. Tom Crosby displayed great running and some tight defence down the wing. Richard Lynch was strong in the forwards and Eddie Vaughan had an all round good game.

Haydock Warrinors U14's - 38

Latchford's game with Saddleworth did not go ahead so when the U14's took the field for their next game on 4th January they had been absent from the field for four weeks.
On paper it appears they suffered a heavy defeat but in truth those that watched the game saw a spirited defensive performance typified by top tackler Ashley Pemberton.

Hindley U14's - 22
Latchford Albion U14's - 8

Latchford played some good rugby in this first round NWC Cup game against a strong Hindley side.
Martin Whitehead and Eddie Vaughan scored the Albion tries.
Daniel Rigby was man-of-the-match and Billy Sheen was top tackler. Back to top

Latchford Albion U14's - 12

Latchford came up short against Haydock despite playing some excellent rugby and improving greatly on the last result against the Warriors.
Ashley Pemberton and Billy Sheen scored a try each and player-of-the-match Mark Smith kicked both goals.

Latchford Albion U14's - 4

The final game of the season for the U14's was also the final match to be played in the NWC U14's Division 3. Unfortunately it came against the outright winners of the league who reinforced why they were at the top.
